UPY has a symbol in the form of a “Lotus Flower” which is a symbol of education, with one bud that rises upwards and is pentagonal, meaning that education at UPY is based on Pancasila and to create scholars and masters who are devoted to God Almighty.

Suluh stands upright with four patterns of upright and flat yellow with a pentagon of red fire rays symbolizing:

  1. Suluh with four upright and flat yellow lines means the function of teachers (preschool, elementary school, secondary school and university) with the essence of their service as great and noble educators.
  2. The flame of five rays of red color:
    • Idiogical meaning: Pancasila.
    • Technical meaning: the target of the generation’s mind, creativity, taste, passion, and work.
  3. Four books flanking the torch with the position of two flat and two upright (symmetrical) with white patterns, symbolizing:
    • A source of knowledge concerning moral values, knowledge, preschool, primary, secondary, and higher education.
    • The green center base color symbolizes the prosperity of the generation.
