  • Commemorating the 78th Independence of RI, Upy Holds a Flag Ceremony

    On August 17, Indonesian Independence Day, Higher Education and campuses throughout the country will hold a lively warning ceremony. This is an important moment where both students and academic staff are united in the spirit of unity to celebrate independence and remember the struggle of the nation’s heroes. Universities and campuses have always been the center of inspiring activities and celebrations, and commemoration of Independence Day is not an exception.

    One of them is at the University of PGRI Yogyakarta which held a commemoration ceremony for Indonesian Independence on August 17, 2023 on the front page of the UPY Auditorium. The ceremony participants were all UPY lecturers wearing traditional clothing or the characteristics of their respective regions and students of PGRI Kasihan High School.     Every year, universities and campuses in Indonesia hold various events, including flag raising, singing competitions, speeches, and traditional art performances.   • Collaboration between countries: Yogyakarta PGRI University and Universiti Education Sultan Idris Malaysia United for quality education

    Yogyakarta, August 14, 2023 – In the midst of the era of globalization and rapid changes in various sectors, steps forward in inter -state education cooperation have been taken by PGRI University Yogyakarta (UPY) and Universiti Sultan Idris Education (UPSI) Malaysia. On Friday, August 4, 2023, this important momentum was reflected in the signing of the Letter of Intent (LOI) which underlined the strategic collaboration between the two institutions. This historic event was held with the presence of a number of important figures from the two universities, proving a real commitment in building strong academic synergy.

    The series of events began with the signing of the loi conducted by the main leaders of each institution, including Prof. Madya. Dr. Abdul Talib bin Mohamed Hashim, a prominent academic and Dean of the Faculty of Human Development UPSI. In addition, Prof. Dr. Nordin bin Mamat, who is the Director of Center of Pedagogical Research & amp; The Innovation of the Faculty of Human Development UPSI, also became an important witness in this step. Representatives from UPY who were present also included Dr. Esti Setiawati, M.Pd Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), and Novianti Retno Utami, M.Pd, Head of the PG PAUD Study Program, in the event the PG PAUD UPY team also brought partners from educators and administrators Cianjur and PG PAUD Head of Ahmad Dahlan Yogyakarta.

    This agreement highlights commitment in several important academic fields, such as academic visits, lecturer exchanges, visiting professors, and collaboration in scientific publications. With the signing of this LOI, the two universities confirmed the determination to form an inclusive and innovative educational environment, which will have a positive impact on student learning experiences in both countries.

    One of the peaks of this collaboration is the delegation visit from the PG PAUD UPY study program to the UPSI campus. In addition to the signing of the LOI, the delegation also participated in an inter -nation seminar held by UPSI. Prof. Dr. Nordin bin Mamat, an expert in education, appeared as the main speaker at the seminar. The delegation also had the opportunity to visit the National Child Development Research Center (NCDRC) and explore educational facilities at UPSI, including libraries, faculties, and publishing centers.

    This synergy also has a positive impact on the development of the PG PAUD UPY study program, especially in enriching the Tri Dharma of Higher Education involving education, research, and community service. The collaborative spirit was also implemented through the holding of an international seminar held by PG PAUD UPY on August 9, 2023. The seminar titled “ Steam Learning in Early Childhood ” invited international experts such as Muhammad Ikhwan Mat Saad, Ph.D. , M.Edu., B.Edu from the Sultan Idris Malaysia University CPRI team as a keynote speaker, as well as other competent speakers from various countries such as Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia.

    In a challenging dynamic era, cross -border cooperation in the field of education emerged as one of the keys to success in shaping young people who were ready to face the future. Strong cooperation between Yogyakarta PGRI University and Universiti Education Sultan Idris Malaysia is a concrete example of how educational institutions can unite to create broader and in -depth learning opportunities for students, and improve education standards in both countries.

  • Share Best Practices Learning through International Seminar Steam Learning in Early Childhood Education

    Yogyakarta, 15 August 2023 – Strengthening international partnerships and sharing the best practices of learning, PG PAUD Study Program at Yogyakarta PGRI University together with Al Hidayah Foundation, Garjita Langgeng Foundation, and PG PAUD Study Program at Ahmad Dahlan University has successfully carried out the collaboration of international service activities at Moesimeen Suska School Thailand on August 02-03 2023.

    Realization of Memorandum of Understanding between PG PAUD Study Program PGRI Yogyakarta University and Al Hidayah Foundation became an important milestone in the effort to share the best practices of learning in Indonesia by utilizing the concept of loose parts . This activity, initiated by Novianti Retno Utami, M.Pd as Chair of the Study Program, and Windi Wulandari Iman Utama, M.Pd as the field of PAUD PG Study Program, received full support from Dr. Esti Setiawati, M.Pd as Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education.

    In this activity, early childhood education educators from Moesimeen Suska School actively participated in various events. One of the main highlights is an international seminar with the theme “ Steam Learning in Early Childhood Education .” This event involved speakers from various countries, including Muhammad Ikhwan Mat Saad, Ph.D., M.Edu., B.Edu from CPRI Universiti Education Sultan Idris Malaysia, Dr. Nek Mah Batri, Ph.D from the Al Zuhri Institute of Higher Learning Singapore, Prof. Dr. Yuliani Nurani, M.Pd, Jakarta State University of Indonesia, Dr. Riana Mashar, M.Sc. PSI University of Ahmad Dahlan Indonesia, Ine Rahaju, SE., M.Pd Langgeng Garjita Indonesia Foundation, and Herdi Handoko, M.Pd, PGRI University of Yogyakarta Indonesia.

    The theme of this seminar discusses Steam learning strategies ( science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics ) in early childhood. The main goal is to get a comparison of steam learning strategies from various national and international perspectives, sharing the best practices in teaching steam for early childhood, as well as testing the theoretical perspective of steam learning from the scientific point of view of early childhood education, psychology, and practice at the center of children’s education Early age.

    This international seminar activity becomes a forum that is rich in insight and knowledge, because it is carried out directly through connections between Thailand and Indonesia. New innovations and ideas in steam learning in the field of early childhood education are the focus of discussions that inspire educators to enrich children’s learning experiences through a creative and interactive approach.

    The spirit of collaboration and community empowerment in the field of education continues to develop through activities like this. PG PAUD Study Program at Yogyakarta PGRI University is committed to continuing to contribute to the development of early childhood learning and provide tangible benefits for people at the national and international levels.

  • Equalizing perception with the Principal and DPL PLP LL

    Yogyakarta PGRI University held a socialization event for the preparation of LL PLP activities on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the Auditorium. The event is the equalization of perceptions with the Principal and DPL PLP LL.

    The speaker was delivered by Dr. Sumaryanta (Chairperson of the Learning Team of the Center for DIY Mover Teachers) with the material, namely Learning Merdeka Learning the Free Curriculum.

    Meanwhile the event continued with the debriefing of PLP II students, followed by 567 FKIP UPY students, with the speaker Wiworo, S.Si., M.M. Delivering the learning material of advertising, then continued by Palupi Sri Wijayanti, M.Pd. (UPY Mathematics Education Study Program Lecturer) with the Material of the Teacher Competency Model.

    Students who take part in the LL PLP will be deployed to 96 schools throughout Jogja starting from SLB, Kindergarten, Elementary, Middle School, Vocational School and High School.

  • UPY Lecturers and Practitioners Collaborate on the Strengthening of National Health Technology

    The development of technology is very massive and affects various domains of human life. This also affects the health sector. Health technology also experiences very rapid development. Because this is needed multidisciplinary science to face the challenges of technological disruption in the era of the Industry Revolution 4.0.

    This challenge was answered by lecturers and at the same time researcher Ekha Rifki Fauzi, SKM, MPH, with Solikhah, Dr.PH. and Angger Maharesi, Amd.em. & nbsp; They have conducted research in the field of health technology, especially therapeutic equipment, namely Smart Phototherapy Device.

    The research, has been proposed and received funding from the Muhammadiyah Research and Development Higher Education in 2022 and also funded from the Ministry of Education and Culture’s DRTPM in 2023 for the development of TKT 4 to TKT 5. Surely the results of this study are also the process of simple patent requests and the output of Q2 index articles on Scopus .

    The first funding from the Muhammadiyah Dikti Research and Development, researchers made a phototherapy with IoT technology (Internet of Things) to monitor the dose level of blue light therapy to patients. Where the research is still occupying the 4th TKT developed.

    Whereas in funding from the Ministry of Education and Culture DTPM in the 2023 prototype fee assistance program, researchers will develop phototherapy to be safer than patient medical records and telemedicine. This development will later be embedded data loggers and cameras to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of blue light therapy in hyperbilirubinemia patients in newborns.

    This collaboration will lead to downstreaming the results of research supported by each institution, both from the University of PGRI Yogyakarta, Ahmad Dahlan University, and Prambanan Regional Hospital. Of course this collaboration is one of the answers from academics and practitioners answering the domestic health technology resilience and independence program.

  • UPY lecturers and Prambanan Regional Hospital in collaboration to develop medical devices with IoT technology in Infant Warmer

    Problems on maternal and child health services, especially newborn care are increasingly complex. The workload of health workers also experienced a significant increase. One of the support of the success of health services is the presence of modern and contemporary medical devices. For example, as in the treatment of newborns, usually the baby patients are placed in an infant warmer to warm the body temperature from the surrounding environment.

    Infant Warmers which are sometimes used in monitoring the patient’s condition, health workers in this case, nurses must guard alternately and face to face with patients. But with the embedding of IoT technology (internet of things) can facilitate the work of health workers to be more effective and efficient only through gadgets. This has been done by one of the lecturers of the Electrical-Medical Engineering Technology Study Program in Yogyakarta PGRI University in collaboration with electro-medical technicians in Prambanan Hospital, namely Ekha Rifki Fauzi and Angger Mahares. They develop infant warmers using IoT technology in monitoring the baby’s body temperature and the level of patient oxygen saturation in real-time.

    Infant Warmer Hasi tool from this development is also equipped with data logger as a medical history recorder from patients and cameras to help telemedicine between nurses on guard and doctors if the patient needs emergency action.

    The development of infant warmer is one of the collaboration of the results of the internal grant of PGRI Yogyakarta University in 2023. In addition, this tool has also received a funding for the registration of patent requests and substantive examinations of the superior program with the potential for intellectual property (Uber-KI) Year 2023 Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.

    Then the infant warmer tool is still the process of submitting a simple patent with the application number S00202304645. This tool has also passed the calibration test and is used to support maintenance services in the Prambanan Regional Hospital.

    The results of this collaboration reflect that the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education which prioritizes the benefits of research results that can be used to improve the degree of public health. This tool will also be downstreaming in strengthening the production of domestic medical devices with TKDN (domestic content level) reaching 70-90%.
