    Friday, October 11, 2019, the Faculty of Economics, PGRI Yogyakarta University (UPY), changed its name to the Faculty of Business (FB). The change in the name of this faculty began with a faculty senate meeting based on the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia Number 257/M/KPT/2017 concerning the name of the Study Program at Higher Education.

  • National Symposium and Lively PBSI Students in Indonesia

    Surakarta, October 30 to November 3, 2019 are memorable and historic days for all PBSI students throughout Indonesia because of the re-holding of the National Symposium and IMABSII 2019. For 5 days it was held at the Surakarta IAIN campus as the host and was followed by all delegates of PBSI Student Association throughout Indonesia with details of 34 universities and 90 student delegates including 3 students from HMP PBSI University of PGRI Yogyakarta. Imabsii Semarak activities are routine activities every 2 years aimed at fostering unity, harmony, and work of Indonesian Language and Literature students in Indonesia. In this year’s lively activities this year carries the theme & LDQUO; Revitalization of Indonesian Language and Literature Values ​​in the Society 5.0 & RDQUO era;.

    The event began with a meeting and friendly between delegates and interspersed with hadroh entertainment and dance performances from the Surakarta IAIN campus. On the second day all participants attended the National Seminar with the speaker Prof. Dr. Dadang Sunendar, M.Hum (Head of the Language Development and Development Agency), Sociawan Leak (a writer from Solo), Prof. Dr. Suwardi Endaswara, M.Hum (Chairperson of the Indonesian Bachelor Association) at Graha IAIN Surakarta and continued with the Imabsii Military Command and Literature Discussion at the inn. The next day the activity was filled with Indonesian Language and Literature Love Orasi and Teaching at SMP N 2 Karangpandan & Ndash; Karanganyar. On the 3rd day the participants were introduced to cultural tourism in the Solo area, namely the Surakarta Palace, the Press Monument, and the Bung Harto House of the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia.

    HMP PBSI UPY at the event was the first time participating in the national level of PBSI Student Association and officially joined IMABSII in 2019.   • FKIP University of PGRI Yogyakarta held a 2019 PDS results seminar

    Seminar on the assignment of lecturers at the Yogyakarta PGRI University School was held on Monday, October 28, 2019 at the Faculty Court Room. This seminar activity is the end of the entire series of UPY PDS activities in 2019. In 2019 UPY was trusted by the Directorate of Learning and Student (Belmawa) Kemenristekdikti to hold PDS with scheme B, namely the implementation of PDS in partner schools and PDS implementation in lectures. Lecturers involved in PDS at school namely Deri Anggraini, M.Pd Implementing PDS at Muhammadiyah Ambarbinangun Bantul Elementary School, Rina Dyah Rahmawati, M.Pd Implementing PDS at Tamansari 2 Yogyakarta Elementary School, Sisca Candraningsih, M.Sc Implementing PDS at SMP N 10 Yogyakarta, Darsono, M.Pd Implementing PDS at SMA N 7 Yogyakarta and Tri Wahana, M.Pd Implementing PDS at SMK N 1 Kasihan Bantul. As for the PDS implementing lecturer in lectures, Dr. Sunarti, M.Pd and Dr. Setyo Eko Atmojo, M.Pd Implementing PDS in PGSD Study Program, Dra. Nur Wahyumiani, M.A and Dra. Suharni, M.Pd Implementing PDS in Counseling Guidance Study Program, Dra. M.M Endang Susetyowati, M.Pd and Dra. Kristina Warniasih, M.Pd Implementing PDS in Mathematics Education Study Program. The eleven lecturers of the PDS implementation have carried out this PDS activity from July to October 2019 and produced the PDS output which was made in the activities of the PDS seminar.

    The PDS results seminar was attended by UPY Rector Officials, FKIP Dean, Head of Study Program in FKIP UPY, Head of Education Office, Principal of Mitra Schools, PDS Partner Teachers and all UPY PDS Implementing Lecturers. In the remarks of the Seminar on the PDS results, Vice Rector 1 of the Academic and Institutional Sector, Mr. Ahmad Riyadi, S.Si, M.Kom, conveyed the importance of this PDS program for lecturers, especially FKIP lecturers where through this PDS the lecturer will gain a real experience about the problems and conditions of learning in schools so that they are able to overcome these problems through innovation and renewal in a real way and can be directly felt. In the 2019 PDS results seminar, 5 innovative learning tools were compiled in collaboration between lecturers and partner teachers for elementary school levels, junior high schools, high schools and vocational schools, after that there were also 6 innovative lecture devices produced by PDS implementing lecturers in lectures in lectures which implements the results of the PDS in schools in 2018. In addition to learning tools in this seminar the results of each PDS implementing lecturer both in schools in lectures presenting articles on the results of the PDS that have been written, so that through this PDS activity 11 articles are ready to be submitted in the journal and both national and international seminars.

    This PDS activity was very welcomed positively by partner teachers, the principal of partner schools and the Education Office. Even because of various innovations carried out by UPY lecturers at school both IT -free and concrete media in elementary schools several schools ask to be given training in the development of learning media to the teacher of their teachers. Principals, both elementary and secondary schools, generally hope that the PDS program will continue and be extended to the number of lecturers and the number of schools involved, because the implementation of this PDS is able to provide different nuances in class learning for teachers and students. In addition, the presentation of each implementing lecturer is known that the PDS program is able to provide an improvement in the quality of learning in the classroom, so that the sustainability of this program is highly anticipated and expected by both schools and lecturers to increase their capacity in managing learning in class.

  • UPY students open a social kitchen in El-Sadar Village

    Ministry of Social Affairs and the BEM KM UPY community, Upty Cares Task Force held a social kitchen agenda, Sunday (11/24/2019), in El-Sadai Village. Kampung El-Shaadai is a village that is inhabited by local and outside DIY residents who have a livelihood as a scavenger.
