  • Traces of multicultural life in Majapahit

    Friday (7/19) students of the Yogyakarta PGRI University History Study Program held a local seminar with the theme “Tracing the Traces of Multicultural Life in Majapahit”. This local seminar became the final project worked on by all 2016 history education students as one of the assignments they took.

    This local seminar took place at the Yogyakarta PGRI University Auditorium which was attended by Dr. Siswanta, m. PD as the Chairperson of the History Education Study Program, Dr. Muh Iqbaal Biresyada, M.Pd as a supervisor and lecturer and staff of the Yogyakarta PGRI History Education Study Program.

    The seminar which was chaired by Irwan Riyadi carried the theme “Tracing the Footsteps of Multicultural Life in Majapahit”. Where this theme is the result of observations in the activities carried out by all 2016 class students in the History Field Lecture (KLS) conducted on the Trowulan website in April. The observations were then described in a local seminar which was divided into 4 parts, namely regarding the brief history of the Majapahit Kingdom by Fuad Muammad Hasan, a study of the lives of ancient people by Ardhin Dwi Setyawan, a study of sites that could be found in Trowulan by Sinta and studies Regarding the lives of today’s people around the Trowulan-Mojokerto area by Mita Adelia Rahmawati.

    This seminar is expected to be a source of insight for all participants about the state of the Majapahit kingdom in the past, and its correlation with today’s society. In addition, this activity is also expected to be a media sharing of students’ knowledge after studying the material of the Majapahit kingdom from intra -campus sources, both library books and upy history museorium collections, as well as the results of the field study that had previously been implemented.
