Student Association of UPY Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, on Monday, March 25, 2019 held a National Seminar & Amp; call for papers with the theme & ldquo; initiating learning innovation as an effort to revitalize Indonesian education towards the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The event was held at the Yogyakarta PGRI University Auditorium with the speaker, Mr. Indra Charismiadji, Ph.D (Educational Observer and Practitioner, CEO of Eduspec Indonesia, E-SABAK initiator, the winner of the 2018 Indonesian Education Award). And Dr. Sri Suning Kusumawardani (Center for Innovation and Academic Study of Gadjah Mada University). The event was attended by 360 participants.

In the era of the current technological era in the learning process has a significant difference compared to previous teaching. Where teaching today utilizes information technology, requires teachers to be creative in delivering learning materials. Technology requires everyone to be able to immediately adjust themselves, including in terms of teaching to prepare children to enter a completely new world of work. Therefore, teachers must be prepared to teach how children become creative and critical. Thus the child will become a person who is ready to face the changing times.

With the National Seminar event, it was able to provide insights on education in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0 to participants who included S1 students, S2 students, S3 students, lecturers, teachers, and practitioners. The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is marked by a cyber-physical system. At present the industry is starting to touch the virtual world, in the form of human connectivity, machines and dates are everywhere. Of course to face the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the world of education also played a role. In shouting the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, it is necessary to revitalize the world of education. There is a need for learning innovations that include curriculum, learning models, and learning methods that are relevant to the current industrial revolution 4.0. (Source: warta.upy.ac.id)

A result of being grateful after being carried out by a visitation by the National Accreditation Agency Assessor Team, English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PGRI Yogyakarta University, succeeded in achieving accreditation & LSQUO; B & RSQUO; which has been determined through the decision of the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) Number 426/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/III/2019.

Hopefully with this achievement the English education study program can continue to make improvements and maintain high quality, because the quality of the study program is a reflection of the totality of the conditions and characteristics of input, process, outputs, results , and the impact, or service and performance of the study program measured based on a number of standards set.

In addition, the achievement of this proud achievement also brings its own pride to UPY which has added one more study program that has been accredited with the predicate B. UPY Rector welcomes and gives high appreciation for This achievement and encouraging the study program manager to be more motivated to continue to improve the quality of the implementation of education with the spirit of upy to grow together exponentially.

This achievement and achievement certainly cannot be separated from the hard work of all study programs and faculties, the support of university leaders, support for stakeholders, and also students and even alumni. Presumably with the achievement of this accreditation can provide additional value to UPY in general and English Language Education Study Program in particular in order to realize excellent service for all parties, especially the Academic Community of the English Education Study Program.

In order to improve student competencies in the field of computers, especially for the Microsoft Word, Microsoft Exel, and Microsoft Power Point programs, Yogyakarta PGRI University in collaboration with Trust Action Program which is one of the official partners From Microsoft in carrying out action program certification for students carried out by Microsoft Partner from Trust Surabaya. Besides that, this certification has also received international recognition.

The action program is expected to be able to develop the ability of students to potentially be able to have specific expertise according to the demands of the world of work, especially in the field of Microsoft Office. Action programs provide added value for students, among others, to get international recognition for competencies or skills in the use of Microsoft Office, increase professional career opportunities, increase the credibility of a professional in the eyes of employers, and provide new insights that may never be obtained during formal education, or in daily work. By participating in the Action Program activity, all students who were declared to have passed the Microsoft Office mastery certificate that applies internationally because the certificate is issued by Microsoft Learning Partner so that it can be recognized throughout the world.

As for the implementation of the Action Program certification activities carried out 4 times a year, namely around March, May, August, and November. While the registration period is open one month before the examination. But it does not rule out the possibility if there is a change or shift in the implementation time depends on the implementing party. In the implementation of these activities each student must participate in their activities because it is one of the requirements for graduation. The participant quota for action program activities is 300 people per implementation.

Before the day of the examination, participants will get training and direction according to the specified schedule and groups. Then in the implementation of examinations for participants who passed the Action Program certification by meeting the passing grade that has been determined by Trust will get a certificate from Microsoft Learning Partner and BNSP (National Professional Certification Agency) Certification if it is declared competent by the assessor. While participants who have not been declared to have passed will get the chance once again for the implementation of re-exam or re-examination.

3rd Upy National University Debating Championship (NUDC) & amp; 1st UPY Indonesian Student Debate Competition (KDMI )

In order to increase the competitiveness of graduates in the global era, PGRI University Yogyakarta held 3 RD National University Debating Championship (NUDC) activities and 1st upy competition debate competition Indonesian Students (KDMI) with the theme of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This is an important part of competition in the global era. Considering this debate competition requires broad insight, good English language skills and argumentation skills. Good English skills will improve students’ communication skills in interacting with the international community. While the skills in arguing will improve the ability of students to make decisions based on logical and factual analysis.

Nudc and KDMI between UPY students were held at the Yogyakarta PGRI University Auditorium on March 19, 2019. The debate event was attended by 26 participants divided into 10 teams. From the participants representing their respective study programs where each study program sent 2 NUDC teams and 2 KDMI teams, each team consisting of 2 students.

Based on the results and assessment of the jury for the implementation of student debate activities yesterday, for the results of 3 upy nudc champion 1 won by the Mathematics Education Study Program, 2nd place in Achieved by the English Language Education Study Program, then the 3rd place was won by the Informatics Engineering Study Program and for hope 1 was achieved by the Accounting Study Program. As for the 1st UPY KDMI, 1st place was won by the Accounting Study Program, 2nd place was won by the Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, then the 3rd place was won by the Guidance and Counseling Study Program, while Harapan 1 was achieved by the Management Study Program.

Furthermore, the winners in the debate will be representatives of the University of PGRI Yogyakarta, which will then be contested at the Yogyakarta region level. In the Yogyakarta regional level NUDC competition representatives from UPY were from the Informatics Engineering Study Program and Mathematics Study Program, each of which was chosen by individuals. While representatives for KDMI are from the Accounting Study Program.
