Education in Indonesia must follow the times

Monday (22/7) Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, PGRI Yogyakarta University, held a National Seminar with the theme & LDQUO; The Role of IT-Based Learning Media and Teaching Materials Electronics in improving the culture of digital literacy in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 & RDQUO; The event was held at the Yogyakarta PGRI University Auditorium. The opening of the seminar was opened by Deputy Dean 3 of FKIP Student Affairs, Danuri, M.Pd. And followed by remarks by Primasari Wahyuni, M.Pd. As UPY PBSI Head of Study Program and was attended by all UPY PBSI lecturers. The event was not only attended by UPY students, but also opened to the public. While the speakers at the seminar were Dr. Susetyo, M.Pd. Lecturer from Bengkulu University, Dr. Muhammad Rohmadi, S.S., M.Hum. Lecturers from Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta and Yanuar Bagas Arwansyah, M.Pd. From PGRI University Yogyakarta.

dr. Susetyo, explained about learning innovations in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0. Susetyo said & LDQUO; The era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is marked by the development of the internet and digital technology as well as the ease of super computers and artificial intelligence. & Nbsp; The Development of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 that occurred in the world today is very influential on the development of education, including education in Indonesia. For this reason, learning both in schools and tertiary institutions is required to change including changes in curriculum, teacher and lecturer competencies, learning models or methods, media and learning materials, as well as learning facilities, & rdquo; he said.

while Dr. Muhammad Rohmadi, explained the role of IT -based learning media and electronic teaching materials in the digital age. There are 4 digital literacy targets in the millennial era, namely:

  1. Digital Literacy Movement in the Family
  2. Digital Literacy Movement in School
  3. Digital Literacy Movement on Campus
  4. Digital Literacy Movement in Society
  5. & ldquo; we must have 5 characters preferred to produce Indonesian golden generation, namely nationalism, integrity, independence, mutual cooperation, religious, & rdquo; Rohmadi said.

    while for improving literacy culture in the digital age, & ldquo; literacy is the ability of individuals to use all the potential and skills possessed in their lives. Types of literacy are language litiration, numeration literacy, science literacy, digital literacy, financial literacy, and cultural literacy and citizenship. The purpose of literacy is to create individuals who are able to apply the expertise they have in life, & rdquo, said Yanuar.

    Industrial Revolution 4.0 is very influential in the scope of education, educators are expected to be active, innovative, competent, and can understand the characteristics of the Milineal generation. Do not be used by technology but use and master the era of technology at this time.
